About
HAIRI – Human-driven AI for Resilient Infrastructure – is an academic laboratory at the Department of Engineering, University of Basilicata.
Mission
HAIRI aims to become a reference at national and international level for the development of human-driven artificial intelligence methodologies dedicated to the safety, resilience and risk management of civil infrastructure. HAIRI will work to keep AI-based civil infrastructure management and maintenance fully aligned with engineering principles, national and international codes, always requesting a final decision from humans.
Vision 2025–2030
The lab works towards a framework in which AI models are fully aligned with engineering principles, considering interpretability, verifiability and probabilistic risk as primary requirements rather than add-ons.
